Field Notes

Description:

These thistles are very commonly found in Spain and are native to the mediterranean. They are very pretty thistles and are very distinctive due to the white line down each of the spiny leaves, thw hite in them incidentally is how they got their name as it looked like milk had been spilt across the plant. They are used medicinally and are believed to have antioxidant and regenerative properties.

Habitat:

seen growing wild in open fields and at the sides of the road in Moraira Spain.
