Field Notes

Description:

Largish, 27 cm. Blue and brown Kingfisher with a white chin, throat and breast. Head, neck and rest upperparts brown, mantle, wings and tail bright iridescent blue. Upperwing coverts and wing tips dark brown. Iris - dark, brown - bill - deep red, feet - red.

Habitat:

Open fields, rivers, ponds and coast.
