Field Notes

Description:

About 45mm long with wings 45mm wide in pictured position

Habitat:

Suburban backyard. Mountains, elevation about 7,500 feet

Notes:

Attracted to blacklight. Over the course of several days I saw quite a number of these moths both feeding at flowers during the day and at the blacklight at night. One of these moths was found in the house the day after this image was taken. I assume it had hitched a ride on my clothing when I went inside after blacklighting.
