Description:

Small dark heron with an erectile black crown, dark grey-green back and pale grey underparts. Yellow legs, dark bill.
Juveniles are striated brown.

Habitat:

Mangroves and lake shores.

Notes:

Also known as Mangrove Heron, Little Heron or Green-backed Heron.
