P americana is certainly close. Heh, I agree about locale 100% I dind't have as hard a time identifying my finds back when I lived in So california
Lasiocampidae/Lappet Moths, Lasiocampinae, Gadtropachini, Phyllodesma sp. and Phyllodesma americana OR Phyllodesma coturnix! Please, verify! Americana is quite a variable species and separation Americana and Coturnix might be impossible without the native specimen! I slightly would tend to Americana. http://bugguide.net/node/view/20258/bgimage?from=24 Coturnix: http://www.boldsystems.org/index.php/Taxbrowser_Taxonpage?taxid=217238 http://calphotos.berkeley.edu/cgi/img_query?enlarge=9092+3191+3540+0064 http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=7688 http://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/210200-Phyllodesma-coturnix ! http://bugguide.net/node/view/467349 It would be mcu easier if you are living in another part of US ;-)...
