Field Notes

Description:

A medium sized (8") painted turtle with a dark olive carapace with light green shades spread over it. The plastron was a light reddish orange with black and yellow-green lines spread liberally over it.

Habitat:

The turtle was found along the side of a road on the north side of Campbell, NE.

Notes:

He was carried safely away from the road. Lots of dead turtles on the road. They think just because they can "outrun" a rabbit, they can beat a car. Sad.
