Description:

The Lesser Ground Cuckoo is a species of cuckoo in the monotypic genus Morococcyx in the family Cuculidae. It is found in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua.

Habitat:

Forest floor in the tropical regions

Notes:

Extremely elusive. This bird is most often seen in ground cover, and rarely stands still. After an hour of stalking / waiting, we finally had our moment with this incredible Cuckoo species here in Nayarit Mexico!
