Description:

7 - 11 mm big beetle, one of the larger species from genus Anthaxia. They can be found there from April to July mainly on trees, rarely on flowers.

Habitat:

They can mainly be found in Central Europe.

Notes:

In Germany is listed as endangered species.

cause i have found some sites where people took photo of it on the approx. same location, I surely wouldn't be so lucky to spot sth else + it says that it looks like hungarica (but the abdomen is red) simply by deduction I realizes it couln't be sth else.

Actually I have to correct both of us, I think is Anthaxia manca ;)

Probably ... cloudy day is not the best time to see it shining...will try to find it again!

All these Buprestidae "change" theirs colors depending on light and light angulation.

Bayaucca I came to the same conclusion just by looking at it eyes, but why mine is not shining? it was a rainy day...everyone was clean....
