Description:

Beautiful large moth of 2.5 cm in length with a protruding ruffle of scales along the back of the thorax. From the front, the moth looks like a Horned Owl.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
