Description:

An endemic Gomphiidae dragonfly found in association of fast flowing streams and rivers in the hill country of Sri Lanka. Males can be easily determined by the hook like anal appendages and expansion at the end of abdomen. Females lack these features. Can be distinguished from recently described Paragomphus campestris using green colour eyes and patterns in the abdomen (P. campestris has blue eyes). Abdomen length: 30-36 mm. Hind wing length: 24-28 mm. National Conservation status: EN
