Just looked up Twelve-spotted Gourd Ladybird larva and found this description bayucca ....http://www.agroatlas.ru/en/content/pests/Epilachna_chrysomelina/ - Larva in the 1st instar is about 2 mm in length, yellow; its dorsal surface is covered with 4 longitudinal rows of branched spicules. Mature larva is 9-10.5 mm in length, yellow-greenish, with 6 dorsal rows of spicules.
This spotting was on the same plant which I guess would tie in with Chun's suggestion bayucca - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/224666038
Hmm, could also be. I just checked these larva and spikes and shape and the shining darker area give a nice match, indeed. But I am not that sure about neither my Limacodidae nor the Epilachna. In dubio pro Epilachna ;-)...
Epilachna sp. ladybird beetle larva. What do you think Bayucca ?
Limacodidae, early instar, I would say...
