Description:
The tufted duck is a bit smaller than a mallard, has a small tuft and a yellow eye, It breeds and winters in Britain and numbers increase with some birds arriving from Iceland in cold winters although it is still listed as an amber species by the RSPB.
Habitat:
seen at Potteric carr nature reserve, owned by the Yorkshire wildlife trust.
