Field Notes

Description:

Dark body, wings are dark brown to black with wide, tapering cream white bands and orange spots near the tips of the fore wings.

Habitat:

Oak woodlands and forest edges and clearings.

Notes:

There was a road cut full of wet gravel where several varieties of butterflies and bees were drinking.
