Description:

A very distinctive species that is fairly common. Adult can be seen from June to November. Length 3-4 mm. The huge number of cross-veins in the wings is very characteristic; there is only one similar species, I. muscaeformis, but this is much rarer.

Habitat:

It is found on a range of woody plants, including most common deciduous trees. Spotted on the heated wall under bay laurel.
