Unidentified hoverfly. Hoverflies, sometimes called flower flies or syrphid flies, make up the insect family Syrphidae.

Habitat:

Spotted on grass in a large semi-urban yard & garden situated next to a disturbed patch of remnant lowland forest, in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea..
