Description:
On this first picture you can see this swallows very defined elongated forked tail which is quite long (5-7cm) in comparison with its body which is 12-14cm. (17-19cm with the tail) . These ones were busy skimming across the river for insects along with some larger swifts and house Martins, this one stopping on the bamboo for only a second before continuing with the rest.
Habitat:
seen on the river in the Jalon valley. At least a dozen on each different part of the river which is classed as an eco zone for the area.
