Field Notes

Description:

Gray head with dark line through the eyes, gray back, brownish/gray wings and tail, lemon yellow belly. There are white stripes along the sides of the tail.

Habitat:

Open spaces, scrublands, and edges of wooded areas. They often nest on utility poles.

Notes:

This one is collecting fluff to use for nesting. The nest is being built near the top of the utility pole at the end of my driveway.

So ironic,I was thinking of uploading a picture of a meadow lark collecting fluff. pic is similar but not this beautiful!
