Description:

These teasels are a very important food source for some seed eating finches, especially goldfinches who feed from the seeds in between the spiky heads. when in flower they have a pinky purple tuft on top.

Habitat:

seen at Potteric carr nature reserve owned by the yorkshire wildlife trust
