Field Notes

Description:

Yellow plumage. Grows to be 30-43 inches in length. Feeds on variety of vegetation in water and on ground (grass area around water) and also grains. The babies stayed very close to the parents. The parents were very watchful of the babies. (These babies were about 8 inches long)

Habitat:

Weissport Canal

Notes:

Only 3 babies with mother and father. Father was very attentive and even chase away other Canada Geese that were feeding nearby. Very protective and even cared for one of the goslings. The other two were more attached to the mother, but sometimes the other one would follow in a row behind mom also. Very cute feeding in water and on the grass. More photos to come.
