Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized fly. Dark body, Transparent wings tinted slightly brown. Dark femurs with lighter tibia. Curled its abdomen down as it walked around on a downed log.

Habitat:

Woodlands, downed tree near a hole with stagnant water. Connetquot State Park, New York.
