Description:

It's a parasitic plant belonging to the Balanophoraceae family and possibly in the genus Balanophora. I have a similar spotting from 2012 tht was ID by Dan Doucette. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/12285063

Habitat:

Lacandon Rainforest.
