Description:

The USA's national bird, the bald eagle take two years to reach maturity. This young one is about to molt into his adult plumage. This is one of a group of three we saw the previous year in their darker coloring. They may be grown up, but they still don't have the sense to get out of the rain(photo 3)

Habitat:

along a rural highway next to seasonal lakes where ducks abound
