Description:

The wind was fairly stiff, and this group of around 17 great egrets was standing at the shoreline, mostly facing into the wind before they decided my friend and I had gotten too close, and took off.

Habitat:

Lake Lewisville shoreline.

Being on the migratory path helps. We get them coming, wintering and going, plus the ones that are permanent residents.
It is something of a challenge keeping up with her. We can but try.
Usually we have more birds from Nov to March. Looks like Texas has it all year thru.
