Description:

This caterpillar has attached itself a wire fence, to pupate. It is at the very beginning of its metamorphosis.

Habitat:

This section of the fence is close to a group of milkweeds where there were many Monarch caterpillars this week (see previous spotting). The pupating caterpillar was about two feet off the ground.
