OK, no problem now its in the correct place. It's better to use birdlife.org for accurate distribution maps, here is the one for Great Tit Parus major http://www.birdlife.org/datazone/speciesfactsheet.php?id=32615
And yeah sorry bt id tagged the place wrongly,it was actually uttrakhand and not gujarat .. :)
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ParusMajorMap.svg....check this distribution of the species......theres no data of major in india.....and it cant be its subspecies grey tit....also uttrakhand is part of himalaya..and ive seen on some sites mentioning it in this area... :)
Parus monticolus is a bird of the Himalayas and extreme north-east of India, far from the location you have put on your map. This bird is identical to the Parus major which is very common throughout Europe and Asia, although some of the eastern races are considerably paler. The main difference between the two is size. Some authorities have renamed the East Asian species to Cinerous Tit, Parus cinereus, cashmirensis sub-species being specific to your area. Without precise measurements and/or DNA sampling it may never be possible to determine which species this one actually is.
