Field Notes

Description:

Spreading prostrate herb, leaves approx 8mm. The matt of plants consisted of two types, one with rounded lime green leaflets and the other with small black 'dots' along the leaf venation. They seemed to have the same flowers. Does anyone have an idea what the black dots are?

Habitat:

Disturbed area. Mullock heap. James Cook University, Cairns QLD

Interesting black things. They seem 'arranged' like slime mold fruiting bodies or insect eggs but also seem to have 'grown' from small to bigger so neither of those. I suppose fungi aren't likely on that type of plant. No idea !
