Field Notes

Description:

Small brown/tan/yellowish caterpillar (app 1-1.5 cm long) with both light tan/brown and pale stripes from front to back; light tan/yellow head, no discernible hair or tail.

Habitat:

Found eating flowers of trillium (Trillium catesbaei).

Notes:

Spotted along the trail at the Allatoona Pass Battlefield.
