Field Notes

Description:

First time I saw it I thought It was Sacred Kingfisher.. But after I looked at on the head, this is a Forest Kingfisher, which is we don't have in Java. It was very tame, when I found it on the little branch on the tree, in the one of sanctuary in Brisbane - Queensland - Australia, I just click on a click, and forgot about the phone ringing. It very similar like Sacred Kingfisher, Forest Kingfisher has blue wings, head and tail with dirty white breast, abdomen and nape. It has a dirty white patch in front of the eyes and a black band stretching from the bill, through the eyes and to the ear coverts.
