Description:

Family: Nymphalidae. Subfamily: Heliconiinae. Wingspan: 1 1/2 - 2 inches. Yellow with black dots and swirls. Feeds on variety of plants such as dandelions.

Habitat:

Meadow with abundant flowers and weeds

Notes:

Saw about 10 of them in my meadow today. I was amazed that this one went onto my offered finger. What a great experience.
