Field Notes

Description:

Creamy white fungi with broadly convex caps that thinned-out towards beautifully crenulated margins. The caps (upto 30mm wide) looked smooth and slightly moist but not sticky or slimy - the texture and appearance was like bread dough.
Gills were close, the same colour as the cap and decurrent. Stipe was long, smooth and slender.

Habitat:

Spotted growing in a colony under very damp leaf litter near a creek.

Distribution:

Notes:

A beautiful fungus with very attractive caps.

My thanks to gully.moy for help with the ID.
