כליל החורש הוא עץ חורש נשיר במשפחת הקסאלפיניים (קרוב של החרוב). פריחתו הבוהקת בחודשי מרץ-אפריל העניקה לו את שמו, אשר משמעותו היא "כתר החורש" או "נזר החורש".
