Field Notes

Description:

3cm green looper. It is disguised as a twig and has black marks on its body mimicking the protrusions where leaves or smaller twigs might join. The images are back and front and this appears to be a true looper. Green head. Very thin

Habitat:

Found at night hanging by a silken thread from a gum tree in a wood

Notes:

it spits a green fluid when disturbed and looks quite dismal in it's body language

Thanks Faredin. I am unable to find reference the genus on the Australian continent so far. The legs are also different. Because Australian creatures evolved independently for so long it is quite normal to find the same niche filled with what appears to be the same species or a relative that is not, however, related. I will do a little more research though, we also call our genus by different names I understand. Lol @ Mark
It looks so much like my spotting so maybe if not the species then the genus should be the same :) http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/38132069
