Field Notes
Description:
A lovely bird in the family Mimidae, related to the mockingbirds, and looking much like a rufous-colored version of Mimus polyglottos, the Northern Mockingbird, Toxostoma rufum, the Brown Thrasher, is a lovely bird.
Habitat:
Found in a mixed forest trail near open cornfields.
Notes:
Lifer! This was very unexpected! At first, from a distance, I thought it was a dull-colored Icterus!
