Field Notes

Description:

Large salamander. Thick-bodied with a long, thick tail. Dark brown/black with gray speckling on lower sides.

Habitat:

Found under gutter drain thingy in a flower bed next to the house. On moist clay soil. Lots of rain recently. It was dusk when I found it.

Notes:

Couldn't get very good photos, since it was dark outside and I didn't want to stress it out by keeping it inside too long.
