Yes, the colors are reversed, and it was larger than usual for a recluse. We do have the genuine article here, and I will be posting some pics soon.
Exercise caution and respect with any spider you are not sure about. Also, I'm by no means an expert. Having said that, I do not think this is a Brown Recluse. For starters the "violin" on the head is backwards and the colors reverse.The thickness and proportions of legs does not seem right either.
