Field Notes

Description:

this nest was build in our garage by a sun bird couple nearly before 2 years.
two eggs were layed by the female and incubated it for nearly two weeks and after it hatched two kids were feed by both parents by insects like small spiders for about three weeks though the adults are nectar feeders. after the two little birds fly away from the nest it was only empty for nearly a month another sun bird couple came to that nest repair it and used it as their nest
we were so amazed and happy to see seven lazy sun bird couples using the same nest one after the other
but each couple used to repair it before use
i didnt have a way to identify whether the same sun bird couples or the little ones who first flee away from the nest were returned to the same nest or whether they are seven deferent couples
still the abandant nest is there and it was so so happy to see 14 little sun birds growing up
i was also lucky to see flying away of the little birds at two situations
this is a photo of the female of the sixth sun bird couple incubating its eggs at night
