Description:

It is found all over in the island from sea level up to 1500 m elevation throughout the year. It is not uncommon in forested areas but usually not found at higher elevations

It has a weak but erratic flight and tends to keep close to the ground. It is known as a shy butterfly which prefers to remain hidden in the undergrowth. At times it is also seen visit damp mud patches. It is a migratory species.
