I see often birds of prey near highways..I wonder if nesting nearby is not a coincidence but has to do with road kills?
Thanks Tom! It's always a treat to see these guys! For years they alluded me until I knew what to look for! This babe is about 3 weeks old. I have a nesting pair of GHOs near my house (way up in an old Red-tailed hawk nest) Their 3 chicks are already full grown, probably close to 8 weeks old!
Thank you again Neil! Yes, Mama is very well camouflaged! I wish she had picked a safer nest, this one is near a pretty busy highway!
