Field Notes

Description:

Small beetle about 2cm long and commonly enjoys lazing on the underside of leaves.

Habitat:

A species of net-wing beetle (lycidae) that occurs in eastern and central North America. C. terminale typically inhabits deciduous forests

Notes:

Adults feed mainly on decomposing plant juices and nectar. Larvae, on the other hand, inhabit dying trees and are predatory on small invertebrates found under bark.
