Description:

First of this species submitted to BugGuide from California. Gold, black and white moth with robe-like wings.

Habitat:

Under porch light at night in the backyard.

Notes:

"this specimen cannot be identified to species without resort to genitalia, DNA, or comparison with comprehensive curated material. There are several possible species in southern California." - Bob Patterson per Brian Scholtens, referee for Pyraloidea at MPG
