Fat tailed dwarf lemur

Small (7-10" long) with 8"-12" tail; soft wooly fur can be grey, red or buff with white underside. Large eyes are surrounded by dark eye rings. Nocturnal, territorial and usually solitary when active, it uses scent marking to delineate territory. Diet is mainly fruit, flowers and insects. It stores fat in body and tail to survive the 8 month dry season. Gestation is approximately 2 months and average litter size is 2 babies which are co-parented by male and female.
