Field Notes

Description:

Sap-feeding beetle, 5 mm long, of the Family Nitidulidae. They are round and flat for fitting under bark. This species is dark brown with pale brown markings on the elytra. The 4th picture was taken on 10 June 2015 in the same place.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
