Field Notes

Description:

This hawk is sitting in one of the favorite trees in my hawking spot. I was a little surprised to see it up there with the really dark storm clouds overhead. If I get so I can recognize these individuals and tell them apart, I'm going to start calling this one "Honey Badger" because, as we all know, "Honey Badger don't care..." (And for this one, I'm starting to recognize that white or lighter color pattern on its back; now if I could just get a peep at the belly band!)

Notes:

Spotted on a tree near an uncultivated area next to a mining operation in Kennesaw, GA.
