Description:

Crested Duck (domestic breed)
The domestic Crested Duck is a duck breed descended from the Mallard. It has its appearance because it has a genetic mutation causing a deformity of the skull. It has a white puff ball at top of head. The scientific name I have listed is for the wild species. Don't know if there is one for the domestic crested duck.

Habitat:

This crested duck was spotted near a pond at an rv park in Florence, North Carolina.
