Field Notes

Description:

I have a lot of hawk sightings in this particular location and I'm not sure how many times I am seeing the same bird or birds! This time, I got a picture of a RTH having a meal -- I have no idea what it had caught -- and getting mobbed by blue jays (Cyanocitta cristata) as he did so (note the angry blur of blue on the left that almost blends into the limbs and sky!) I only had time to get the one picture before the jays succeeded in driving it away.

Notes:

Spotted on a tree near an uncultivated area next to a mining operation in Kennesaw, GA.
