Field Notes

Description:

growing on dead looking twigs (of heather?). Fruitbody felt waxy. Growing among spagnum moss and shetered by heather, rhododendrons and coniferous tree which probably made a nice damp micro-climate. These pictures were taken after they'd been in my pocket as I rode back but I suspect the black-ish rim was there when I picked it not just dirt picked up in my pocket?

Notes:

dm - I have a sample for now. there's an unknown sample I have in herbarium which might be this mushroom, named 'dm??'
