Field Notes

Description:

Gray and brown with ear tufts.

Habitat:

In a juniper tree on my school campus. The fledglings were in the nest in the next tree over so I guess this is where the parent hangs out during the day to hide. Didn't see the other adult around, though I'm sure it was. Here are the babies: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/231646074

Notes:

It was super windy out, and the branches in this tree were swaying a lot, but she was keeping her body in one spot to keep an eye on me. Was pretty funny to watch!
