Field Notes

Description:

Black, white and yellow caterpillar with a horn tail. The head and anal plate are yellow. The sides are light gray and white with black and yellow spots. There is a white stripe down the back. The horn is black. This species is highly variable in appearance. Even on the same plant, they can vary a lot. See Notes below

Habitat:

Unknown flower stem near a rose bush in the backyard.
