Field Notes

Description:

Range in color from light tan/yellow to dark brown. Males are smaller than females. American toads usually range from 2 to 4 inches. Males produce a very loud trilling call.

Notes:

Our local toads have just started to emerge. In photos - a very large female and a smaller, lighter colored male.
