Field Notes

Description:

The scales are black with yellow centers, giving them a speckled look. This guy was a lifer for me :)

Habitat:

Found in the south-central US and prefer swampy areas. This guy was found basking on the porch of an old house in a swampy area.

Awesome snake. I found one when I was a kid out horseback riding, but I have never seen one since then.
